It is not certain when exactly the Fest will be held this year, or whether there will be one at all, the fate of other festivals and cultural manifestations is not certain either, but it will definitely be held from September 3 to 7, in Zlatibor, in Nova Varoš and in Priboj. the first edition of the National Film and Television Festival, or NAFIT for short.
This was confirmed by the signing of the contract by which the state co-finances its festival with 35 million dinars.

Before that, in May, the second host of NAFIT Nova Varoš received 25,5 million dinars for the House of Culture, and Minister Selaković announced an additional 16 million for the digitization of the cinema hall. Priboj, the third host, received money for the reconstruction of the Cultural Center last year.
According to the announcement of the Ministry of Culture on the occasion of the signing of this latest contract, the creator of the festival, director Predrag Gaga Antonijević, pointed out that from the point of view of the film industry, the need for this festival is long-term, and that everyone wants a national festival, because there has not been an opportunity for the last 20 years.
"We had a zero edition last year, now we know, approximately this year, in what scope and what it will look like, but we think it can be expanded because, as Cannes is for France, it is exactly Zlatibor for Serbia," said Antonijević.
Minister of Culture Nikola Selaković pointed out that "Serbia has the most productive cinematography in the region and deserves a festival of this format. Since 2006, after the separation with Montenegro, Serbia has not had its own national film festival, and now we are correcting that deficiency. By standing behind such a festival, the country is determined to stand behind it in the future, to support it, to develop it, with the goal of becoming the largest national film festival in the region."
The Organizing Committee includes, among others, the president of the municipality of Čajetina, Milan Stamatović, Predrag Gaga Antonijević, Maksa Ćatović, executive producer, Lazar Ristovski, Miroslav Lekić, Vladimir Vasiljević, who is the executive director of the festival, Arsen Đurić, president of the SO Čajetina, Zoran Stamatović is the director of the festival...
Who is the selector was not mentioned. Also, we won't see anything at the first national festival, it's only a month until its first day and most certainly everything is already ready. And yet, there was no mention of it. NAFIT still does not have its own website where such data could be found.
