The premiere of the musical "Balkan Express" at the Terazije Theater is the central event of the 75th anniversary of this theater.
It was originally planned for the end of last year, but due to the budget, it was moved to this year, for the finale of the jubilee year.
The musical "Balkan Express", said the director Darijan Mihajlović, is a tribute to the cult film of the same name, directed by Branko Baletić based on the script of Gordan Mihić and remembered for the music by Zoran Simjanović and the actors Olivera Marković, Bata Živojinović, Bora Todorović, Dragan Nikolić and Tanja Bošković.
"This is a story about a group of people who think they can escape from their circumstances. They have to think about life, but also about morality," said the director of the play, Darian Mihajlovic.
He pointed out that this is a big production, that there are more than a hundred participants, and that it has been preparing for a year.
Due to genre requirements, Aleksandar Sedlar composed additional music, and he gave a new arrangement to Simjanović's well-known numbers.
The main roles in this musical are played by: Anja Mit alternating with Jelena Jovičić (Lili), Žarko Stepanov/Slaven Došlo (Popaj), Miroljub Turajlija/Arsenije Tubić (Pik), Elizabeta Đorevska/Dušica Novaković (Aunt), Duško Radović/Dragan Vujić (Stojko), Milan Tubić (milkmaid), Major Dietrich (Slobodan Stefanović), Vladan Savić (Boško), Milan Antonić (Kosta). and Olivera Bacić Dragičević / Ksenija Repić (little girl Lea).

Due to the two divisions, two premieres are scheduled - April 25 and 26.
