The film "Karmadon" director and screenwriter Aleksandar Radivojević, produced by Digimedia, won two awards at the just concluded fifth edition of the Across the Lake festival in Dojran, North Macedonia.
Aleksandar Radivojević received the award for the best director of the Mediterranean, while the composer of "Karmadone" Đorđe Miljenović received the award for the best music.
Explaining the decision, the international jury emphasized that it was rewarding Radivojević for his "brave and original directorial vision".
As part of the supporting program of the festival, one of the producers of "Karmadone" Miloš Đukelić gave a lecture dedicated to the application of artificial intelligence in contemporary film production.
The awards in Macedonia continued the extremely successful festival life of "Karmadon", a satirical horror-thriller that, since its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival last September, has been shown at numerous film screenings in Europe, North and South America, Africa and Australia.
Apart from these two latest awards won in Dojran, the film "Karmadon" has won nine more awards so far.
Two awards for the best film: at the Dark Nights Film Fest in Sydney and the South African Horrorfest in Johannesburg.
Two awards for the best screenplay: in Sydney and the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival in New York;
Jelena Đokić was awarded as the best actress at the Fantaspoa festival in Brazil, while at the Balkan Film Directing Festival in Belgrade she was awarded the Special Contribution Award for her role in the film "Karmadon".
Aleksandar Jakonić won the award for best photography at the South African Horrorfest.
At the recently concluded Film Festival in Sopot, this film received the Grand Prix for the best film and the "Mira Stupica" award for the best actress, Jelena Đokić.
The "Karmadone" festival tour continues in the second half of the year. After successful festival appearances in Dojran and at the Grossmann Fantastic Film and Wine Festival in Slovenia, the film will be screened at the Horrorant Film Festival in Greece and the MOTELX - Lisbon International Horror Film Festival in Portugal in the following months.
