The first one will be held from August 29 to September 3 Niš Film Festival. It is organized by the Association of Film Actors of Serbia, where the Film Encounters, better known as the Actors' Festival, were held in 2024. Because the local cinematography, its creators, and the audience are used to watching the latest domestic films in Niš in August, and because there is no valid reason for the actors to remain without their festival due to the need of the City of Niš to comply with the needs of the authorities.
The Association of Film Actors of Serbia founded and realized this festival without a dinar of state aid.
The selection includes films that represent the two missed years and not the party. They were not selected because there were no others, as is done now at other festivals. Who come to Nis after participating and winning prizes at world festivals. The producers and authors of the selected films were happy to respond to the organizer's invitation to create the Niš Film Festival together.
The first Niš film festival will be held in two locations: in the amphitheater on the Niš quay, and in the Cine Grand cinema.
In the announcement of the program of its Niš film festival, the Association of Film Actors says that "the audience can expect 21 domestic films from the past two seasons, of which 19 are in competition and two in the review selection", as well as that the festival will show "one world premiere, just like domestic premieres, which makes this year's program even more exclusive".
A spectrum of characters and acting challenges
"At a time when Serbian film has become a kind of endangered species due to the abolition of state support, with this special edition we want to show all the richness and eclecticism of domestic cinematography, i.e. the wide range of characters and challenges that our actresses and actors engage in," the announcement reads.
The selector of this year's Niš Film Festival is director Stefan Ivančić.
"The program includes commercial and children's films, productions of various genres, the most awarded art films, and even hybrid feature-documentary films. This year, the Niš audience will have the honor of attending the first screening in Serbia of highly anticipated domestic films Our Father, Among the gods, A crack in the ice, as well as the world premiere Movie Index", said Stefan Ivančić.
At the amphitheater on the Niški Quay, at the opening, "the biggest names of the local and regional acting scene" will walk the red carpet, the organizer announces.

The film will open the festival Our Father, directed by Goran Stanković, starring Vučić Perović (Golden Arena in Pula), Boris Isaković, Goran Marković, Jasna Žalica, Dado Ćosić and others.
The program will end with a film screening on the first evening House, directed by Tanja Brzaković. Miralem Zubčević, David Stanču, Jelena Bosanac and Anica Dobra are in the main roles.
The following day, the program continues at the Cine Grand cinema, where the audience will be able to watch the film Restitution, or, the dream and sleep of the old guard, directed by Želimir Žilnik, one of two productions in the revue part of the program, out of competition.

On the second day of the festival, the audience will be treated to a screening of Vladimir Tagić's film Yugo Florida, which has already won many hearts. The cast in this family drama consists of Andrija Kuzmanović, Nikola Pejaković, Hana Selimović, Jovana Stojiljković, Snjejana Sinovčić Šiškov and many others.

On the same evening, a feature-length documentary-feature film will be shown Indeks, directed by Miloš Živanović.
On the third day of the festival, on Monday, August 31, films will be shown in the Cine Grand cinema Sister of confinement, directed by Ivana Mladenović and the film Mother Mara, directed by Mirjana Karanović.

A romantic comedy will be shown at the amphitheater on the quay Sportsko srce, directed by Milan Karadžić. This movie hit completely conquered the audience during the previous cinema season, which is certainly due to the phenomenal cast consisting of Mima Karadžić, Nela Milahjlović, Nina Nešković, Aleksandar Đurica and others.
The second big blockbuster of the third night of the festival is certainly the film Isolation, directed by Marko Backović, with Miloš Biković in the lead role.

On Tuesday, September 1, the audience at Cine Grand can expect two productions - Winds, talk to me, directed by Stefan Đorđević, as well as the film Karmadona, directed by Aleksandar Radivojević, in which Jelena Đokić has already won awards at foreign festivals.

The outdoor program brings the film Wedding, directed by Igor Šeregi, the most watched regional cinematography with more than two million viewers.

On the penultimate day of the festival, films will be shown in the Cine Grand Excursion, directed by Nenad Pavlović, and Mileva Einstein, directed by Andrijana Stojković.
In the evening, the Serbian premiere of the film awaits the audience Among the gods, directed by Vuk Ršumović, as well as Cat's cry, directed by Sanja Živković.
Festival finale
The final day of the festival, Thursday, September 3, begins with screenings at the Cine Grand. The film will be shown from 15:00 The sun never again, directed by David Jovanović. The performance will be shown later that day White is washed at ninety, directed by Marko Naberšnik.
