The fifth jubilee Festival of stage movement and choreodrama (SPIK) of the Faculty of Arts from Kosovska Mitrovica is underway. The competition part has ended - the Grand Prix was awarded to the duo drama "Mr. and Mrs. Smith"
Citizens, students, professors, actors, journalists and others interested in the Stage Movement and Choreodrama Festival (SPIK) of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Pristina with temporary headquarters in Kosovska Mitrovica gathered in the "Trepča" Cultural Center in Zvečan on Thursday (November 6).
From this year's SPIK
The festival was officially opened by full professor of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade, Dr. Srđan Karanović, with the words: "Let the games begin!". After the official opening, the play "The Appearance of Things" was performed. It is a contemporary piece by Nilo Labjut, and the play is the author's work of Andrija Daničić.
SPIK will last until December 31st, and the competition part of the festival ended on Sunday (November 9th) when the awards were given to the competition performances.
The expert jury consisted of Ph.D. Tara Manić, assistant professor at FDU in Belgrade (president of the jury), Ph.D. Srđan Karanović, full professor at FDU and Ph.D. Aleksandar Đinđić, full professor at FU in Pristina - Kosovska Mitrovica.
Award-winning performances
The GRAND PRIX award was awarded present "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" (Mr. and Mrs. Smith) for "imaginative and exciting consideration of stage movement and choreography as key means of narrative in this effective play," says the decision made by the expert jury.
They further state that this duodrama (Jep Teatra - UK "Parobrod") offered "a bold choreographic treatment of Ionesco's text, as well as a synthesis of two different acting expressions, which gave birth to a harmonious and unusual stage co-play between Mina Ćirić and Luka Potparić".
The special prize for stage movement was awarded by the jury to Veljko Milijić and Miloš Drljača for "bravura in performance and intense partner contact". These are the students of the Academy of Arts in Banja Luka who performed the play "Ambis".
Finally, Aleksandra Pejić received a special commendation for the choreography for "adequate consideration of the choreography in relation to the delicate problematization and complex theme of Lorca's test". And, in question is the performance "Jerma" by the Union of Dramatic Artists of Vojvodina in cooperation with the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad and the Youth Theatre.
The performances were performed in the House of Culture "Trepča" in Zvečan, in the acting classroom at the Faculty of Arts in Kosovska Mitrovica and in the House of Culture Stari Kolašin in Zubin Potok.
A selection of performances and video works
Professor of the Faculty of Arts in Kosovska Mitrovica, Dr. Vera Obradović Ljubinković told "Vreme" that the festival is traditionally marked by two selections. "The audience can follow performances and video works," she says.
He adds that this year they had eight performances that were in competition (of varying duration, from 20 minutes to an hour).
"Among them are doctoral art projects. And, the guests came from Banja Luka, Niš, Novi Sad, Belgrade, Bijelo Polje, but students from our Faculty also participated with original displays and performances", Obradović Ljubinković points out.
According to Obradović Ljubinković, there were ten video works, and among them, in addition to students from Kosovska Mitrovica, artists and professors with choreographies from Montenegro, China, and Greece competed.
He goes on to say that along with the main, competitive part of the program, movement workshops are also held.
"Performances are selected based on applications, but also by having them watched and selected during the previous year or submitted via video. We often receive a recommendation from other departments at our Faculty that a work would be suitable for the Festival, we get in touch and then watch a video provided by the author", explains the "Vremena" interviewee.
Small difficulties as an anecdote
When asked if they had any difficulties while organizing the festival, Professor Obradović Ljubinković answers that if they weren't there, they wouldn't even have anecdotes to tell when the festival is over.
"The program is too big and the workload of the Faculty's staff as well as students, volunteers, participants and professors is too great. It is not easy to achieve everything mentioned above", she states.
This year the festival celebrates its first anniversary.
"My biggest impression, after five years, is the connection that our students and professors make with guest participants from other faculties. After the Festival, they maintain contacts and, most importantly, new collaborations arise from which new works and projects, choreo-dramas and video works are born, which are planned for our festival days", says our interlocutor and concludes that this was indeed the goal of the Festival of Stage Movement and Choreodrama.

The performance of the Minister of Culture Nikola Selaković in connection with the Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime does not, admittedly, exude special acting talent, but it faithfully portrays the nature of the progressive government.
Declaring that Vučić is the real target of the Prosecutor's Office for organized crime, Selaković almost alluded to the American anti-mafia law RICO - not only those who directly participated in criminal acts are prosecuted, but also those who were at the head of the organization that committed them. And it is known who leads the progressive government
