Tonight (May 25) awards will be given to the best documentaries 19. Beldocs festival. As a kind of prelude to that ceremony, it happened unplanned the evening before after the film screening Within us, when she joined the audience at Dom omladine via video link Juliette Binoche, famous French actress and an Oscar winner.
Juliette Binoche is the director and screenwriter of the film Within us, in which he also stars with the famous British dancer and choreographer Akram Khan.
Within us depicts their joint creative experiment from 2007, after, as Binoche said, they realized that she would like to dance and he would like to learn to act.

The first part of the film follows the process of creation of the play In – I, and the second part is a recording of one of the performances of that fantastic piece. The author of the music was Philip Shepherd. This emotionally and physically intense performance has been performed more than a hundred times around the world.
Juliette Binoche shared with the audience at DOB the memory of the beginnings of that work, of the long intimate and artistic search for a story and feelings that will be expressed through movement.
According to her, they started from scratch and over the course of six months came up with an exciting story about love in its different stages.
She told that during a guest appearance in America, Robert Redford himself told her that he must make a film about that brave and wonderful project.
As she added, her sister, director of photography Marion Stallens, shot the rehearsals, so she had a lot of documentary material. She admitted that it was not easy for her to choose and connect scenes that would properly represent that unique process.
Judging by the high ratings of the critics, she succeeded in that. Critics point out that the film combines reflection on the nature of artistic creation, vulnerability and the thrill of risk-taking, as well as personal transformation.
So far, the film has participated in festivals in San Sebastian, Busan, Rio IFF, Vienna and Thessaloniki.
