This cannot be said more gently: the pre-election campaign of Aleksandar Vučić has fallen apart. First there were them tents with pork and music, but the pig fell hard in the heat, half of Serbia was burning in fires, it was all so hideous that even he, who normally can bear anything and is not ashamed of anything, seems to have realized that it causes him more harm than good, so he decided to jump to the burnt Deliblato Sandstones, another symbol of his carelessness and incompetence.
There, for the purpose of the pre-election campaign, he sat down on a wooden bench and, still in his T-shirt, seated next to him, at a nice 37 degrees, firefighters in full gear and with helmets on their heads, and in a surreal scene, he choked one of them with a sandwich (I guess to ensure another safe vote, or what).
After he explained to us that Serbia is a firefighting superpower - fortunately, because if it hadn't been for the other half of the country, the other half of the country would have burned as well - the champion of dialogue started, instead of pitching tents, to talk to the citizens, but the citizens, seeing him as God and being happy to see him, started asking unpleasant questions, in the sense of where the money you promised is, so he gave up on that ingenious idea.
Then he thought of attacking the cities that did not stand out in their love for him, but the people of Užice, angry as wasps, told him that he was free to return from whence he came. He was not even allowed to set foot in Novi Sad. Here he is now, he came up with a podcast.
The party as a technical service
And yet, that is not his biggest pain. His biggest problem is that he destroyed his own party. It is an illusion that the machinery is still working.
We see in Uzice that it does not work. The machinery does technical things: take away, bring, pave, get what you need, beat up who you need, clean, bring, dirty, pollute, hit, pretend to be crazy... And nobody, literally none of his servants say anything, because when they do, it's so terrifyingly stupid that it's better to keep quiet.
And not only do they not say anything, but they also do nothing because they were not brought to those places - mayors of municipalities, for example, or the prime minister, anyway - to do something, but to collect votes, but it doesn't go well if they don't do anything, so now, frantic as they are, they wag their tails like dogs until the master stops scolding them and talking about anything and everything, always and everywhere, which, in turn, entails certain consequences.
Namely, the leader, despite the fact that he is constantly surrounded by his entourage, isolated himself, and soon 250 people of integrity will be in front of him, determined to drive him away from the place where he is doing unprecedented damage.
People of integrity
We are talking, of course, about the Student List. It is clear that integrity does not guarantee political skill, but at this time the most important political skill is integrity.
Vučić does not know what to do with people of integrity, since he himself does not possess that human trait, nor does anyone around him. Integrity is an undesirable trait in his environment.
Those 250 people are entering the political field to engage in politics, that is, to try to reassemble the community that Vučić has been lustily destroying for 14 years.
A person of integrity is a person who cannot be bought and who does not appear on the public stage for his own sake, but to defend and represent the common interest of citizens, that is, what is good for everyone, and not for one person, one group, or one party. Those 250 people and thousands of students and citizens will roam the country of Serbia. And Vučić's media, his thugs and his corrupt police officers will not be able to do anything about it.
That is why for the first time perhaps his simple and (after all) untrue bragging that he is the only one against everyone will sound true, the only thing being that he is solely to blame for that circumstance.
He has already spent unimaginably large amounts of citizens' money for private purposes, and he will spend who knows how much more when the official election campaign starts.
This, however, will not prevent these 250 of his opponents from being everywhere, together with thousands of citizens, while he, like a voice from the well of the past, like the specter of Hamlet's king, will still be heard only from cannibalistic propaganda magazines, until the citizens pull the plug from the electricity.
