So, in Nis, we heard (unfortunately we saw) how the supreme being intensively spills from the hollow into the empty, smears himself, lies, whines about himself, dramatizes...
This overflowing has nothing to do with reality (even when it is hollow and when it is empty), while to those it addresses, it is increasingly difficult to sell that hollowness and that emptiness as fulfillment and fullness.
We saw the impressive speed with which, after the speech of the supreme being, the magnificent assembly dispersed.
We saw that people had no idea what he was talking about, so they gave the wrong answer when they were asked if SNS officials should talk to dissenters.
Hand on heart, logic and sense remain completely powerless in front of what the supreme being managed to say in those endless 45 minutes, so no coherent answer can be expected.
We heard him mention his broad shoulders. And that some huge money flowed from Europe for its demolition, although that Europe is great and appreciates it a lot. And Putin appreciates him. Brother Si appreciates it too. In fact, there is no one who does not adore him. And that Austrian, what-was-his-name?
All that world that he brought to Nis - and he could do better - was depressed and indifferent to his frustrations.
Contradictory to the point of pain
However, one should not rush to conclusions here. In that speech, meaningless from the point of view of logic and the whole, he offered his voters everything they wanted to hear.
Anyone could pinch what they recognized as close or important. To those who do not like Europe, he offered an evil Europe. To those who have nothing against Europe, he offered the other, for everyone to appreciate.
And all this in contradictions that do not touch his voters, and the whole, logic and sense, in fact, are not important for those he addresses.
In the first reactions, journalists and commentators singled out as the most important moment that Nenadležni told the students that it did not occur to him to fulfill their demands, and to the professors that, as far as he was concerned, they could screw up.
However, did anyone in their right mind think, in their deepest moment of weakness, that Vučić would fulfill any student request? Of course not. How can he fulfill that student political masterpiece when the fulfillment would directly accuse him?
All the time, on the contrary, he invested enormous energy to not fulfill the demands. And why is there so much surprise now?
Therefore, the brutal rejection of the request was not a moment of sincerity. Nor part of the intensification of violence. Not even a new threat. He didn't even lose his temper. He said what his electorate wanted to hear.
Before closing time
But, let's note, it's not that simple. There is nothing more behind what he dared to say. He ran to the shower and danced allbank.
In other words, Vučić has nothing else to offer except inflammatory words and violence. Literally nothing.
Fidel Castro, for example, a high-level criminal, offered the Cubans imprisoned in the island's concentration camp, at least a high-quality and free health care system. This one offers nothing because it destroyed everything.
And yes, free and desperate public transport for the citizens of Belgrade, here, now also Nislia, from June, July, when? Crazy.
In addition, his electorate has been crushed. Without energy, as we have seen, he just wants to be left alone.
The Supreme Being still had his soldiers, but the front line stretched uncomfortably. The students, their professors and citizens (well, the opposition too, at least the one that doesn't whine about the fact that the election conditions will be irregular: of course they will be irregular), and now, as Željko Bodrožić testifies, a soldier of the party from Kikinda jumped to the nearby Zaječar to tear up opposition posters. What would you do master, where is your army from Zaječar?
Finally, although not in the last place. Of course, people are tormented by impatience, of course hope and disappointment alternate, of course fatigue takes over, but almost every gesture of the government provokes a fierce counter-reaction, and so it is with the student meeting on the second square in Nis: only Nišlije gathered there, and there were hardly less than the people brought from who knows where.
And Novi Sad on the same day: the fight for political prisoners. And restrained Subotica full of people with awakened hope. And an extraordinary speech by Aleksandar Čučković, dean of the Faculty of Economics in Subotica.
Therefore, this cannot be said more tenderly: the spirit, master, broke the bottle in which it was imprisoned. You have nowhere to return it.
