"Every step of our fellow citizens from Novi Pazar towards Novi Sad was a blow to all the prejudices and divisions, all the hatred spread by the people from SNS", said political scientist Adem Mavrić through tears at the first student pre-election rally in Novi Sad.
He was referring to the march of young people from Novopazar last October before the commemorative rally on November 1. In these few words, Mavrić said everything.
Because what is on the other political side? It is well known - a flourishing government that tries to survive by fomenting the most evil divisions and hatred. That's why he calls students and opponents traitors and Ustashas; that is why the regime media celebrate Ratko Mladić, a man convicted of genocide and crimes against humanity; that is why SNS bases its campaign on violence, pressure and blackmail.
You don't have to be a Bosniak to be shocked by the orgy of chauvinism and inhumanity that followed Mladić's funeral. It is enough to remain just a human being. The regime that has shown its disgusting mockery of the victims to the whole world must really come to an end.
Serbia before the election
By the way, the elections have finally been announced. They are not about changing systemic political groups. It is about a choice between the beginning of Serbia's recovery on the one hand and the cult of personality, kleptocracy and advanced normalization of the abnormal on the other.
So - will professors, doctors, artists, engineers and those who are studying to become them finally get their place in the country or will Serbia be renamed Ćaciland? Do mobsters, thugs and obscure propagandists become the most respected citizens, while students, real journalists, actors, academics, people from the judiciary and other professions become outlaws? If anyone doesn't know yet, this is exactly what is at stake.
Hang in there, Kesić and friends.
The case of Zoran Kesić and the crew of the show "24 Minutes" also testifies that the regime is not known for anything other than vulgarity, hatred and violence. Afraid of political satire, the progressives canceled them through their new partners, sorry, owners of Nova S.
What motivated them? It is enough to compare the regime's propaganda on its televisions with Kesić and company from "24 Minutes" for the reason to explode before one's eyes.
Well, among the progressives, primitivism, lies, threats, insults, frowns and the like reign. In "24minuta" everything is the opposite. As Ceca Bojković said at a rally in support of Kesić and his friends, they broke fear with wit and laughter.
The people showed that he understood. In addition to Bojković, the protest was attended by a large number of real journalists, public figures, citizens of all generations...
Otherwise, gatherings due to the cancellation/banning of a particular show, book, film, play, etc., are characteristic only for totalitarian and autocratic countries. Well, let the respected reader see where he lives...
Optional footnote
The students showed that they very readily welcomed the announcement of the elections. The parliamentary opposition did not. She nonchalantly missed the opportunity to give the elections an even wider referendum significance. Only its leaders think that they can do it like that and no one else.
How many anti-regime votes will the opposition scatter? Some hope that one of her lists could enter the Assembly and thus reduce the damage already done. That is all that can be said in this optional footnote.
