First, around noon, the area in Kralja Milan between "London" and Terazije was closed to traffic, and around 4, the Chacilenda, to gather police forces. The headquarters of several institutions are located on that stretch, but this time, the attention is focused on Republic Election Commission (REC).
Why at RIK? We have no idea. That is, we have. RIK should, during the evening, announce the preliminary results of the elections, which is a claim equal to the discovery that 2 + 2 = 4, except that neither of them is valid in Serbia.
For all these 14 years, the majority in the Republic of Croatia, which is made up of representatives of the authorities, dutifully paid no attention to the electoral irregularities and electoral violence directed by the authorities. There is, of course, no reason to believe that this evening will be any different.
The problem, however, for them is that everything is different this evening. Namely, regardless of the shameful attitude of the majority in the RIK, it did not happen Vučićeva dominance seriously contested. This evening, however, there are good reasons to believe that that dominance is threatened to such an extent that it is, in fact, gone. RIK, therefore, has several possibilities - depending on the results.
They will declare the victory of the regime, or at least give the regime a better chance. Everything else will depend on the difference in the number of votes. A five percent margin victory for either side guarantees victory, with the possibility that Student list and the citizens had to defend the victory.
The same applies to the victory of the Student List, and the guarantee is a convincing victory (more than 5 percent). In that case, RIK would probably procrastinate and recalculate within itself.
One could think, therefore, that this strong police force is there to defend the RIK from the onslaught of angry citizens. But the Student Movement has already called on citizens not to take to the streets after the closing of the polling stations. Let RIK publish a fat lie, the reaction - it is almost certain - will not be immediate.
But blocking part of the main traffic artery in the city center also has another function: the uninterrupted functioning of Ćaciland. On the one hand, it is a kind of threat to citizens, but, again, what kind of threats? Perhaps the only disincentive for citizens to take to the streets in case the RIK declares a false victory for the regime, but, we repeat, the Student Movement has already called on citizens not to go out after the closing of polling stations.
And it could be that all this is just an expression of the regime's nervousness, a continuation of its deep irrationality (or of one man) who installed Çatsilend for reasons completely inaccessible to common sense.
