Perhaps I should explain the subtitle of this text in more detail. Those photos and artifacts arranged in the hall of the National Assembly under the collective name "Jasenovac – a permanent warning" represent reverence for the victims of the Ustasha concentration camp to the same extent as room tour Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić in Davos has to do with Economic forum.

My paternal grandfather-uncle Aleksandar Šomlo, the youngest brother of my grandmother, died in Jasenovac with his family. Sanji, as he was called, lived and worked in Croatia. They arrested him together with his wife and two small children. He was one of those 147 Jasenovac camp inmates who organized a breakout from the camp on April 22, 1945. Only 11 of them survived, he was not among them. His wife and children were already dead. Shanji was thirty-eight years old at the time.

And for Orban – the Novi Sad raid
