Election day it went as we assumed it would. It is enough to look at the headlines on the "Vremena" blog: "Open polling stations", "Slashed tires for observers",
"Beated...", "Beated...", "Bulgarian train blocked", "Mass brawl"... This was a dress rehearsal for some future parliamentary elections, as local ones were held in 10 local governments. So let's see what we had…
1) There are many of them, but where are they from?
It's not about the voters, it's about the clubbers, the black hoods, the čati. There were more of them
ready to take out poles, clubs, axes, and even weapons. There is no way we can get an official one
confirmation, but from two independent sources "Vreme" unofficially learns that he is currently out of prison
a large number of prisoners were released, with the task of beating, threshing and disrupting the election process.
We don't know how realistic it is for them to repeat this trick in all of Serbia, but you should be ready for anything.
Not once during today's day did the police arrest the attackers of the citizens, and there were attacks in Kula, Bor, Knjaževac, Arandjelovac... They only legitimized them. And this scenario we have already
watched, but if they plan it for the parliamentary elections, they risk turning the whole country into a war zone.
2) SNS is collapsing, Vučić is in a panic
How many times have we said this? Probably enough to make the reader roll their eyes. But be careful now
good: all day the Informer spins about "thug blockers". For example a woman has asthma, and a student yelled at her, so she got sick. Her friend - frazzled, it's hard for her to talk, the woman is petite, the guy is big. Furthermore, all day long the Informer was talking about the "hordes of Mile Pajić" who are "obstructing the election process".
The money seems to have been spent. This time there was not much oil, detergent and others
"incentives" for SNS voters. Another proof of panic is the announcement that Aleksandar Vučić will
address the public at 22 p.m. At the time of writing this text, it is already 22:30 p.m. He's gone.
3) All the best to the citizens
The student movement, all the lists gathered around them and citizens in the role of observers showed what it means to leave your heart on the field. Today's heroes and heroines are the women who stole the duplicate voter list in Arandjelovac, the citizens who surrounded buildings full of thugs in Bor, Kula and Smederevska Palanka, those who discovered the "call centers" of SNS. By the way, call centers are not illegal, but what was discovered today in Palanka and Kladovo is not a real call center.
If so, why were they hiding?
Also, the turnout far higher than in 2022 in all 10 local governments is proof that it is
solution - field work, what the students did through the action "Student in every village" as well as
numerous trainings for observers.
4) Synergy produces results
Although it does not seem that the opposition has consolidated, united with the students, it is achieving success.
At least that's how it is at the bar. How likely is this for a republican election? A little, but not impossible.
The results from the 10 local governments are still coming in, but when they arrive and are analyzed in detail, the matter will be clearer: it is not always a picture that speaks more than 1000 words. Sometimes it's numbers.
5) Rekindled fire of battle
Citizens who defended the election results today to the point of blood raised the morale of all those who lost their spirit in recent months. The student movement, after a year and a half of protests, arrests, beatings, walking, cycling, is now reaping the first fruits of that work. And we know that they will continue to work and that the results will be even greater. After today, March 29, we are entering a new phase of the fall of the regime. Nothing is the same anymore.
Now it is realistic to expect even stronger repression, but it is only a phase. After that, it can be
only better.
