On December 15, 2025, the text was published in this place "Either Vučić, or the EU" in which the transformation is briefly described Seselj's radicals into fake Europeans, into an interest progressive group that functions according to the principle of a company with limited liability - an association of political actors, companies and natural persons for the purpose of doing business under a common business name.
The Serbian Progressive Party came to power in 2012, promising that its leaders had lost the will to fight for Kosovo and "Serbian territories" in Croatia, that they were committed to bringing Serbia closer to the European Union, and that they were now crossing themselves with all three fingers, looking in the direction of Brussels instead of Knin and Gračanica.
Fourteen years later, what was born on a lie, was twisted in lies. They don't care about Serbian territories or the EU, but they do care about profit.
Positive untruth and negative truth
If, 14 years ago, the hope that SNS was a sincere partner prevailed among EU officials, the expectation that it fueled Angela Merkel treating Aleksandar Vučić as his political darling, today it is clear to everyone who they are dealing with: by defending lawlessness, Vučić and his partners in the company SNS doo are defending themselves. Fulfilling any EU legal norms, which are a condition for substantial progress in the accession negotiations, means for them shooting themselves in the foot, which has not yet been nailed.
So why, after all, are the progressives now pretending to have accelerated the reforms that the EU has been insisting on for years, and the European Commission is recommending that Cluster 3 (Competitiveness and inclusive growth) be opened with Serbia at this very moment, before the eventual elections, the first in four and a half years, which the opponents of the progressive regime see as a pre-election gift to Ursula von der Leyen Vučić?
Because the EC does not lead Serbia's internal policy, because the leaders of the Union, as a rule, are not inclined to tension and prefer the carrot to the stick, because the progressives led by Ana Brnabić in Brussels promised everything that was asked of them, because it is easier politically to deal with a positive falsehood than with a negative truth - even if you know that the interlocutor is lying and that the rapid adoption of "reform laws" in the Serbian Parliament means nothing if the SNS he will not keep those laws. And because from Brussels, even with binoculars, they do not see an alternative for better cooperation.
There is still a dose of (unjustified) fear that, if Vučić gets hit too hard, he could cut the umbilical cord with the EU and cling to Russia and China in a survival convulsion.
The EC's proposal, which requires the consensus of EU members, was rejected by eight states.
Elections are not won on old stories
Anyway, the question of Serbia's distance to the European Union is a question of the future of our country. If we remain on the margins of the EU, if we do not get out of romantic dreams and stand on the ground of observable geopolitical reality, Serbia will not experience the desired prosperity - neither social, economic, nor democratic, regardless of the intolerable European Commission and everything that the EU has done to Serbia and the so-called the pro-European, anti-progressive opposition, with its short-sighted, ineffective, bureaucratic politics.
And here, after this endless speech about SNS and the "European path" of Serbia, we come to the election and the student list.
Kosovo is an old, finished and told story. Serbia's European chapters have yet to be written. Elections are not won on old stories. The top of the SNS understood that.
