President Aleksandar Vučić in his chronic media appearances, he repeats like a broken gramophone - he will admit the results of the election, if he loses!
The more he does so soothes the more cynically the people talk about how they will "definitely" lose and the "blockaders" will definitely win, the sooner they should listen.
Because why is it necessary that the president of a country, while recommending to journalists Nelson Mandela's book about determination and conviction in the right thing, repeats that he will recognize the election results? Those that, by the way, are organized by his state-party apparatus?
Why on earth would he not recognize the election? Isn't recognition of results common? Citizens vote, it is counted nicely, and that will is respected, and recognizing or congratulating the winner is part of better customs, although they should not affect the validity of the election.
Chasing a rabbit from the forest
By building himself as a great democrat, Vučić wants to - as he sees it - drive the rabbit out of the forest. He wants to hear from the "blockaders" either the same, that they too will recognize the results of the election, or the opposite, which he hopes more because the propaganda use value is greater.
Namely, he wants to hear that the students and the opposition will not recognize the official outcome if SNS is declared the winner, that they will blame it on election theft, and that they will rebel.
The regime would then harness that to the propaganda wagon - aha, they don't care about elections and the will of the people, they just want to be in office. And if the people don't give it to them, they will cause chaos, burn and throw things into the cold Danube.
What elections are actually elections
Just as recognition of results should be ephemeral and default, the same should be true of election conditions.
Equal and fair access to the media, for example. Or that no one is blackmailing people to vote this way or that way. Not to import voters from neighboring countries, not to run parallel lists, not to build Bulgarian trains.
Unlike Vučić's admission of eventual defeat, this count is not in the realm of hypothesis. His regime has been caught in all these inactions every time and is now carrying them out on a large scale before what will be decisive elections.
And so, with all the criminal advantage the regime is gaining, It looks like the race will be close.. You don't need to be a great mathematician to conclude that SNS and satellites can gain a small decisive advantage with the tricks described.
No one has to congratulate Vučić
The matter is, therefore, the opposite of what Vučić's propaganda presents. The "blockaders" will not trample the will of the people, but it is trampled by the regime, by not allowing the people to express themselves in free elections. Vučić and the satraps do not give armchairs at any price.
It is the duty of anyone who fights against the system not to accept with enthusiasm an election result that is the result of tricks. And no, he doesn't have to congratulate Vučić if he declares victory.
To that extent, Vučić's supposed appeasement of the people can be understood as a threat. It would be a success for society if his defeat were so convincing that any trickery and any resistance to reality would be meaningless.
