Economist and former minister in the Government of Serbia Dušan Vujović died at the age of 74 after a long illness, it was confirmed by the Association of Serbian Economists.
Dušan Vujović was Minister of Economy in the Government of Serbia from April 27, 2014 to September 3, 2014, and from September 3, 2014 to May 16, 2018, he served as Minister of Finance.
He received the award for the best finance minister of Eastern and Central Europe for 2017.
He was also acting Minister of Defense of Serbia in the period from February 5, 2016 to March 2, 2016.
He also worked as a consultant to the World Bank and USAID in the field of innovation, budget and public sector reforms, and was a research associate at the CASE Institute in Warsaw.
Vujović chaired the Research Council of the National Alliance for Local Economic Development (NALED) and provided consulting services to various domestic and international research institutes.
He was born in Požarevac on July 22, 1951.
He graduated, master's and doctorate at the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade.
He completed postdoctoral studies at the University of California, Berkeley, and worked as an assistant at the Institute of International Politics and Economics in Belgrade.
He was also an assistant at the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade, and then an associate professor.
