Program applications volunteers "Expo Playmakers", at the international specialized exhibition "Expo 2027" in Belgrade, were opened today, the company Expo 2027 announced.
Applications for volunteering are open to all adults from Serbia, the region and the world via a special volunteering platform that interested parties can find at this link, and more than 20.000 volunteers will be needed, it was specified in the announcement.

Future volunteers, as stated, will be able to apply for one of 48 different positions within the organization of the exhibition, from contact with visitors and delegations to logistics, event organization and support for international teams.
All candidates who are at least 18 years old by April 15, 2027 and who can be employed for a minimum of 15 days during the Expo have the right to apply.
The most intensive period of selection and training is expected from September 2026 to April 2027, and candidates are expected to undergo a series of educations and trainings in order to improve their knowledge and complete their previous experiences.

The program is also open to international volunteers, which brings Serbian citizens of all generations the opportunity to collaborate, socialize and exchange experiences with people from all over the world.
It was pointed out that Expo 2027 should become the largest open platform for connecting, learning and gaining new experiences in Serbia, a place for developing organizational, communication and intercultural skills, as well as establishing contacts important for future professional and personal opportunities.
Through the partner system of benefits, volunteers will have access to numerous benefits, from the opportunity to receive additional ESPB points during schooling, to various discounts that, among other things, include 27 percent on air tickets of the Air Serbia company, benefits of the Telekom Srbija company, as well as free use of certain railway passenger transport services of the Srbijavoz company on the territory of Serbia during the duration of the program, and in accordance with the conditions of the Expo volunteer program and with the possession of a valid volunteer accreditation.

All participants will receive an official uniform, a welcome package, training and a certificate recognized in the educational and professional system.

It was pointed out that in Dubai a large number of volunteers got their first job thanks to the experience gained during the exhibition, while in Lisbon the program grew over time into a permanent academy for young people.
Similar models were applied at the Olympic Games in Paris 2024, with 45.000 volunteers, as well as in the preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, for which applications for 65.000 volunteers are open.
It is recalled that volunteerism in Serbia has a deep historical foundation, from the tradition of the Red Cross and falcon societies to modern examples of solidarity in crisis situations and at major sports and cultural events, and Expo 2027 is now raising that tradition to a global level.
