Factory employees "Tigar AD" in Pirot they gathered on the evening of Tuesday, November 4th, because executives had begun to lay off their jobs. According to unofficial information, workers hired through agencies have been fired in this factory in recent days, which further increased dissatisfaction in the factory.
Although one local politician was detained, the factory workers said that they did not need politicians, but that they expected concrete solutions from the union and management. Part of the gathered accepted the conversation with the activists from the "Assembly of Citizens of Pirot".
"Tigar AD" is a state-owned company that is preparing for sale, and the workers think that the management and union representatives need to urgently find a compromise solution and ensure stability in the collective.

With the dismissals in "Tigra AD", mass dismissals, primarily in the south of Serbia, continue. This factory, which produces work uniforms, was opened in 2018. It was announced that they would hire 250 workers, but the number of employees never exceeded 100.
Before that, the Leoni factory from Niš announced that it was closing its doors, and 1900 workers would be out of a job, it was announced in July this year. Benetton, Johnson Electric and Drexlmeier have all announced layoffs.
