The recently released financial report for 2025 shows that for The Millennium Team, owned by businessmen close to the authorities, was again very successful with revenue of 36,9 billion dinars, i.e. almost 315 million euros.
When all liabilities that the company had to pay are subtracted, the net profit is exactly 2.559.150.000 dinars, or 21,8 million euros, it says. Dunja Marić for the New Economy.
Compared to the previous year, the Millennium Team's profit increased. Namely, in 2024, their profit amounted to about 2,3 billion dinars. It was also the most dramatic growth, bearing in mind that a year earlier, in 2023, the Millennium team made a profit of around 154 million dinars.
And a year earlier, in 2022, the company made a profit of 44 million dinars. So, over the past few years, the Millennium Team has seen a continuous increase in profits.
The State and the Millennium Team
Namely, the Millennium Team is one of the companies that often gets jobs from state companies and is engaged in significant state projects, Nova ekonomija writes.
As stated on the company's website, the Millennium team is engaged in the construction projects of EXPO 2027, the National Stadium, the New Sava Bridge, Section 1 of the Turkish Stream...
Also, at the end of September last year, the Millennium Team company, as a member of a group of bidders, was awarded the job of procurement, delivery and installation of equipment and furniture for the Center for Early Child Development and Inclusion in New Belgrade.
In the same consortium is the company of a close associate of Aleksandar Šapić, Jadran. The business is worth almost 550 million dinars, or about 4,7 million euros.
In addition to jobs from state enterprises, the Millennium team also received money in the form of subsidies. As it was announced at the beginning of the year, the state of Serbia approved a subsidy of 30 million euros to the daughter company of the Millennium team, Danube Riverside, for the construction and furnishing of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel on the site of the demolished Hotel Yugoslavia.
As stated in the contract, this company was granted incentives in the amount of 20 percent of justified investment costs, which amounts to exactly 30.142.217,2 euros. The money will be paid in two tranches, 15,5 million euros in 2026 and 14,6 million in 2027. The total value of the investment should be more than 150 million euros.
The Savamala case
The Millennium Team is also mentioned in the case of Savamal, i.e. the demolition in Hercegovačka street in Belgrade, on election night, between April 24 and 25, 2016.
Namely, in December 2016, the Commercial Court in Belgrade issued a verdict against the company for the demolition of the remaining buildings in Hercegovačka Street that were used by the company Transport Peroni.
The Millennium Team is also mentioned in the first international judgment of the European Court of Human Rights, which confirms the responsibility of the state for the demolition in Savamala, Nova ekonomija writes.
In the verdict, the court did not deal with the demolition on the night of the election, but only with the first petition submitted by Iskra, the company whose buildings were demolished, and which refers to the preliminary actions of the demolition. Specifically, the judgment refers to the demolition of the fence of this company by the Millennium Team and Belgrade on the Water, which was carried out on May 8, 2015, and which, according to the court, "deprived Iskra of the right to peaceful enjoyment of property".
The judgment established a monetary compensation for the spark of 3.000 euros, and an additional amount for court costs, which must be paid by the state.
Despite this, lawyer Ivan Ninić announced that, according to the official data he received, the Millennium team paid large donations to the police.
According to his statements, the Millennium Team paid 1.550.000 dinars for equipment for police officers, allocated 24.557.975 dinars for the construction of the balloon hall and 2.303.308 dinars for policemen's clothes and shoes.
That company also, as the media announced, donated 2.310.120 dinars for "footwear equipment" for police officers and 5.880 euros for two containers.
