Telekom is the only operator in the Western Balkans that has cooperated with European Investment Bank, and made excellent arrangements with the Swedish Bank and the Finnish Export Bank, said the company's general director in an interview for the digital magazine rEUconnection (REUC). Telecom Vladimir Lucic.
"All those loans are for 10 years with a low interest rate and a long grace period. We already had this type of lending before with the Bank of China, and Telekom is the first operator in Europe that will establish cooperation with the American EXIM bank by the end of the year," said Lučić.
Lučić emphasizes that none of those loans have any conditions related to the prohibition of the use of anyone's equipment, which is the result of the desire to help Telekom make the best commercial and business decision.
"I must point out that we have excellent cooperation with the American administration and companies in several segments. We are currently working in particular on establishing cooperation in the matter of cyber security, cooperation in financing startups and the fight against piracy on the American market, where next year we should also be a mobile operator. We would especially like to highlight the key contribution of the American embassies in Pristina and Belgrade to the survival of our company in Kosovo and Metohija," said Lučić.
According to his words, Telekom Srbija plans to introduce the most modern standards of digital security in the long term, because security on the Internet is becoming more and more demanding, and that project is independent of the 5G project. Lučić pointed out that in the software part of cyber security, Telekom has the best software, mostly from American and Israeli manufacturers.
In September, Telekom is planning a tender for most of the equipment to be implemented in 5G, and with the support of Vodafone, which is one of the largest 5G networks in the world, we will definitely have favorable conditions for the price of the equipment, said Lučić, emphasizing that with "the most favorable financing conditions and the most favorable prices, Telekom will be able to develop its network extremely favorably and quickly."
"Our transformation strategy from a traditional telco operator to a telco company of the future proved to be the ultimate correct one, and numerous strategic partnerships with globally recognized companies, brands and institutions speak in support of that," said Lučić.
He pointed out that the Telekom Srbija group operates in 13 markets, regionally and globally, and has 13 million users with a tendency for further growth, thanks to the fact that it continuously improves its offer with modern services and services necessary for the 21st century.
