He pointed out that "EPS today it must simultaneously ensure three priorities: security of supply, financial stability and a sustainable energy transition".
"Our goals are clear, to maintain the position of the dominant producer and supplier with electricity, for which diversification of sources is necessary along with strategic investments in new production capacities," Živković pointed out.
He stated that "EPS has already expressed interest in purchasing developed projects in the field of renewable energy sources that are on the Serbian market."
"Since, on the one hand, we are exposed to additional costs of 100 million euros due to the emission of gases with the greenhouse effect, and on the other hand, due to CBAM, we are unable to make a profit from the sale of energy to the European Union, the focus of the investment is on the development of our strategic capacities, above all RHE 'Bistrica' and large solar", emphasized Živković.
He pointed out that in Serbia in the last few years, more than 2.000 megawatts have been on the grid, of which 426 MW are new capacities of EPS, while renovations of hydropower plants brought an additional 100 MW.
