In accordance with the Law on Public Information and Media, Elektrodistribucija Srbije denies incorrect statements in the text "Who reads meters" in the printed edition of the weekly "Vreme" and the text on the link https://vreme.com/ekonomija/vreme-saznaje-eds-isterao-i-ljude-pred-penzijom-da-citaju-brojila/
In accordance with the provisions of the Law on Public Information and the Media, which regulates the right to respond to information, please publish this denial.
The information you published in the text "Who reads the meters" and on the portal is completely incorrect. It is true that Elektrodistribucija Srbije sent answers to your questions two hours before the publication of the text on the portal in which you state that you did not receive an answer, and then three days later in the printed edition you repeat that incorrect information.
It is also a fact that there are clear rules for organizing work in the Electric Distribution of Serbia and no one is forced to work overtime without pay, as you claim in the text based on the statement of an anonymous citizen. It is malicious and incorrect information that EDS employees stay longer at work when bills are printed, since Elektrodistribucija Srbije, as the operator of the distribution system, does not do that work.
In Elektrodistribucija Srbije, there are no employees hired through the student cooperative, and the information that those workers can be dismissed by "short procedure" is also incorrect, because there are none.
Elektrodistribucija Srbije does not "impose" anything on anyone, as you say in the street jargon, but through the mobile application it is possible to independently report the status of the meter according to the Law on Energy, which is widely used by citizens.
Your claim about the failure of the tender for meter reading because a competing company that made a significantly better offer was rejected and therefore sued EDS is denied by the very decision of the Republic Commission for the Protection of Rights in Public Procurement Procedures that the offer is unacceptable because it does not meet the basic conditions of the tender.
But when someone is malicious and determined to present the company's work negatively, without first checking the facts, it is a problem if you hire external companies for meter reading and if you hire your own employees and if you allow citizens to report the meter status themselves.
