According to the forecast Republic Hydrometeorological Institute (RHMZ), on Friday it will be slightly to moderately cloudy and warm, with sunny intervals. The highest daily temperature will range from 30 to 33 degrees.
It will be even hotter on Saturday, September 5, when the local temperature is expected to reach 37 degrees.
Loznica, Negotin, Kraljevo and Niš will be the warmest during the weekend, where around 37 degrees is expected. In Belgrade and Novi Sad, the temperature should be around 35 degrees.
RHMZ warns that the unfavorable meteorological situation will continue until the end of the first decade of September, with a deficit of precipitation and temperatures above average values. During most days, the mercury in the thermometer will be between 30 and 35 degrees, while up to 37 degrees is expected on Wednesday, September 9.
At the same time, this weather increases the risk of fires starting and spreading in open spaces, especially due to the lack of precipitation and long periods of high temperatures.
However, according to the forecast, the change of weather is getting closer.
Somewhat more pleasant weather is expected on September 7 and 8, but then a new rise in temperature will follow. Around 35 degrees is expected again on September 10.
The real refresh should arrive on September 11. Rainfall and the penetration of colder air are expected then, which should mark the end of this period of great heat.
From September 12, the maximum daytime temperatures should be up to 27 degrees, while at night they will drop to around 15 degrees.
RHMZ also states that from September 10, more frequent intrusions of moister and fresher air from the west and northwest of Europe are expected. Such a change should alleviate the heat load and reduce the risk of outdoor fires.
In other words, we have a few more warm days ahead of us, including a very hot weekend, but mid-September should bring much more pleasant temperatures and the return of precipitation.
