Head of the Environmental Protection Department of the City Administration of the City Leskovac, Bobana Stošić during the action of cleaning and arranging the space in Solunskih ratnika street, near the "Jeanci" factory, towards the "Slavko Zlatanović" settlement, said that there is a large number of wild landfill in the city.
"Despite the great effort to bring the locations to the condition they should be in, we still have a few black spots. Let's clean them up, in a few months or weeks it will turn out again that our work was in vain. It's time for us all to do something together, and we have started more intensive cooperation with the Environmental Crime Department of the Ministry of Interior. We will have meetings once a month, we have made a strategy and I hope that we will not have places like this on the territory of our city."
Solar panel cameras
This area is now surrounded by cameras that will be used to monitor whether and who, if any, pollutes.
"The plan of our department is also to acquire cameras with solar panels, which will be additionally and permanently installed here. The procedure is ongoing, we expect it to be done very soon. The city also received a drone that will be used for this purpose."
Elvis Majlić, as a representative of the local community council, on this occasion asked his fellow citizens not to litter.
"We have cleaned several landfills, but it is up to us not to pollute the cleaned area again, because that endangers the lives of all of us. I hope that the installed cameras will help a lot in that."
