The Minister of Defense Bratislav Gašić presented the commander of the "Cobra" with a presidential decree on his promotion to the rank of brigadier general, the Ministry of Defense announced
Darko Djosic, commander of the Special Purpose Military Police Detachment "Cobras"", he was promoted, and Stanislav Mijailović, head of the Directorate for Development and Equipping of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, received the rank of major general.
By decree of the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić Colonel Dragan Kužet was appointed Deputy Commander of the Training Command, while Colonel Miodrag Mladenović was appointed Commander of the Mixed Artillery Brigade.
The rank of general indicates the high trust and importance of the unit, which is directly responsible for counter-terrorist operations and the security of the highest state officials.
The commander of "Cobra", colonel Darko Đošić, is a personal friend of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, he was once his head of security. "Time" was written. He progressed at a venerable speed, as did Vučić's former adjutant Đuro Jovanić, director of the VBA. And therein lies the whole problem - when the personal prevails over the professional, "kuršlus" arises. "Vremena" sources, long-time police officers, also warn of the fact that people from "Cobra" are needlessly "wasting themselves on meaningless tasks and falling into a rut": "For 20 years, the head of security for the former president of Serbia, Boris Tadić, has been one man. That man has lost any possibility of improving his career. And he is not the only one. Tadić is still being protected by several people from "Cobra".
Members of the "Cobra" who were illegally guarding Vučić's brother Andrej in 2104 and tried to force their way through the Gendarmerie cordon at the Pride Parade were caught in a lie, and were beaten. They defended themselves in court that they "accidentally" came across him because they were "predecessors of Vučić's security" who were going to have lunch at his parents' house. No one believed it, but the gendarmes were dismissed from their jobs, and the commander of the Nis detachment, Senad Koštić, was promptly retired.
