According to the data Republic Hydrometeorological Institute, today the orange is in force on the territory of the whole of Serbia weather alarm. The warning states that more intense thunderstorms are expected in the second part of the day, followed by a greater amount of precipitation in a short period of time, while emergency warnings will be issued for certain locations one to two hours in advance.
An orange weather alert means dangerous weather. Dangerous weather phenomena are forecast, and they are of such intensity that they can cause material damage and be dangerous for people and animals.
You should be very careful, aware of the risks and regularly informed about the details of the expected meteorological conditions, and follow the advice given by the competent state services.
The cloud cover with rain and local showers that affected Srem, Bačka, western and southwestern Serbia during the morning and forenoon, in the southwest high current, will spread to other regions as well, announced the RHMZ.
Showers, hail and gale force winds
In the second part of the day, more pronounced showers with thunder are expected with the local occurrence of hail and strong or stormy winds in the zone of the most intense development.
As stated on the RHMZ website, stormy winds are expected in southeastern and southwestern Serbia, as well as in Kosovo and Metohija.
The south and southeast wind will increase, and in the evening and during the night it will turn to the west, while the highest temperature will be from 18 to 24 degrees.
In the evening and during the night, short-term clearing is expected from the south and southwest.
The Belgrade area is also expected to be unstable today, occasionally with rain, showers and thunderstorms, which in the second part of the day in some parts of the city may be more pronounced with the local appearance of hail and strong or stormy winds in the zone of the most intensive development.
A weak to moderate south and southeast wind will blow, which will increase during the day and turn to the west in the evening, and the highest temperature will be around 21 degrees.
Significantly colder on Sunday
On Sunday, May 17, it will be cloudy, windy and noticeably colder with rain.
The most precipitation is expected in Vojvodina, central, eastern and southeastern Serbia, while in the south and southwest precipitation will be significantly less.
A moderate and strong, gusty northwest wind will blow, and the maximum temperature in most places will be from 12 to 16 degrees.
