Almost everyone fires in Serbia have been localized or extinguished, and the biggest engagements of firefighters are at the remaining fire sites in Deliblatska peščara and on Mount Stolovi, near Kraljevo, the Ministry of the Interior announced today.
In Deliblatska Peščara, the situation has improved due to strong wind that changes direction and intensively spreads the fire. Members of the Department for Emergency Situations, together with members of voluntary fire brigades and local residents, are working to prevent the spread of the fire in critical directions and bring it under control.
The helicopter unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs engaged three aircraft in extinguishing the fire, which operate continuously from the air on the most endangered parts of the fire area.
In the previous 24 hours, 224 emergency events were recorded on the territory of Serbia, of which 193 were fires and 31 were other interventions, according to the MUP.
