Court of Appeal in Belgrade announced on Friday that it accepted the appeals filed by the defenders of Vladimir and Miljana Kecmanović, the parents of the minor KK who killed ten people in the school "Vladislav Ribnikar", and revoked the conviction due to a significant violation of the provisions of the criminal procedure, and sent the case back for retrial in that part.
Vladimir Kecmanović detention was extended, which can last until the further decision of the first-instance court, and the Court of Appeal confirmed the first-instance verdict in the acquittal part in relation to Miljana Kecmanović.
The court accepted the arguments of the defenders of the accused shooting instructor Nemanja Marinković and overturned the first-instance verdict in the section on criminal sanctions, and sentenced Marinković to one year of house arrest, with the payment of a court fee of 20.000 dinars.
According to the judgment of the Appellate Court, the first-instance court committed a significant violation of the provisions of the civil procedure, since the reasons for the verdict are unclear and the sentences of the verdict in the condemning part in relation to the Kecmanovićs are contradictory.
It is added that the court extended the custody of Vladimir Kecmanović until the further decision of the court of first instance, because there are still reasons why detention originally determined and extended according to the defendant.
Vladimir Kecmanović was sentenced in the first instance to a single prison term of 14 years and six months for a serious offense against general safety and neglect and abuse of a minor.
Miljana Kecmanović was sentenced to three years in prison for neglecting and abusing a minor, and was acquitted of the criminal offense of illegal production, possession, possession and trafficking of weapons and explosive substances.
Marinković was sentenced at first instance to 15 months in prison for giving a false statement.
