The "Lego Musketeers" team, which consists of 10 students of the First Gymnasium in Kragujevac, won first place at the First Lego League Adria Region competition in Slovenia and thus qualified for the competition in Florida.
Mentors Katarina Veljković and Ana Stanković worked with the students.
Veljković told "Vreme" that Serbia has been participating in this competition for 12 years, and that this year, for the first time, a Serbian team won first place.
He explains that the competition consists of four parts, and that this year the challenge was "Masterpiece" where the students have to present their hobby to as many people as possible, through art and the application of technology, mathematics, engineering - "through all these elements they have to present their hobby and the team decided to present our national circuit Moravac, because four of them from the team practice folklore and they wanted to show all the other participants what our tradition looks like."
Veljković continues that "through the surface that lights up in certain colors, the left foot is red light and the right blue, and based on how the basic step of the Moravian goes, you can see how you should play that step."
Students from nine to 16 years old participate in this competition.
