The "Infrakos" company in charge of Kosovo's railway infrastructure has taken over the facility of the Serbian Railways in Zvečan, Radio Kontakt plus reported.
A flag has been placed on the object Kosova, while Cyrillic signs with the inscription "Loud" and instead of them, signs with symbols of Kosovo were placed.
The head of the regional operation of the Kosovo Police, Erduan Baljići, confirmed to Radio Kontakt plus that the police assisted in taking over the premises of the railway station in Zvečan, which began around 8:00 this morning.
Kosovo's Minister of Economy Artane Rizvanoli, Minister of Interior Dzheljalj Svečlja and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Dimalj Baša attended the removal of Cyrillic symbols from the building.
Svečlja said that this is about taking over another parallel institution of Serbia in Kosovo and announced that the railway station in Zvečan will be adapted and reconstructed as part of the railway network of Kosovo.
According to information from the field, the police are still deployed around the station building.
Three more railway stations taken over
The company responsible for the railway infrastructure of Kosovo "Infrakos" today, with the presence of the Kosovo Police, took over the facilities of Serbian railways in Leposavic, Ibarska Slatina and Leško.
Actions were carried out almost simultaneously around 8:00 a.m., confirmed for Radio Kontakt plus the deputy regional commander of the Kosovo Police, Veton Eljšani. He pointed out that there were no problems when taking over the buildings.
At all stations, bilingual Latin boards with inscriptions of the places "Ibarska Slatina", "Leposavić", "Lešak" were placed, along with signs and flags of Kosovo.
