Who suits the 56-meter tower across from the Fair

According to the Draft Detailed Regulation Plan, in the cultural-historical complex of Senjak and opposite the Belgrade Fair, the construction of an 18-story tower 56 meters high is planned, which contradicts the plans of a higher order.

In order to prevent this illegality, councilors of the opposition list "Biramo Savski venac", at the initiative of the Green-Left Front, have scheduled an extraordinary session of the Municipal Assembly for Friday, May 16, where they will ask the councilors for their opinion on this draft plan.

"If colleagues from the ruling coalition do not come to the meeting, or if they support the Draft, then we will know who is destroying the values ​​of the Sava Valley," Sanja Solarević, ZLF councilor in the Assembly of that municipality, told the "Vremena" portal.

Three times more than allowed

The block in which the controversial construction is planned is limited by the streets of Kosta Glavinić, Ruska, the railway overpass and Vojvoda Mišić Boulevard.

The development of the detailed regulation plan for this block is financed by the company Tehnicom Construction doo. The owners of this company, Vladan Kovačević and Dejan Perišić, also own the company Teho-Inn doo, which is the owner of one of the plots on which the construction of the 56-meter tower is planned.

Councilors of ZLF and "Biramo Savski venac" believe that the draft plan should not be adopted due to numerous irregularities.

The mentioned tower is three times higher than the permitted height of buildings opposite the Belgrade Fair, and it would be located on land with a high level of underground water.

Then, that draft plan foresees the expansion of Ruska street from 12 to 20 meters, which will cause the existing tree line to suffer.

The "Drinka Pavlović" Home for housing children without parental care, which will lose part of its yard due to the construction of one of the five new planned roads, is also at risk.

Endangered Senjak

Danger also threatens the cultural property of the State Marking House, as well as the protected views of the Sava River due to the construction of such tall buildings, which do not fit in with the cultural and historical complex of Senjak, which enjoys previous protection as a cultural property.

The public discussion of this Draft is scheduled for May 20.

According to the procedure, the position of the councilors of the Sava Valley from the extraordinary session on Friday will be included in the report on the public inspection of this Draft, and will affect the fate of that part of the Sava Valley.
