A large number of vehicles it was damaged this afternoon at Ostružnicki the bridge, on the bypass around Belgrade, after, for reasons unknown at the moment, the iron connector on the road rose, it was announced on the Instagram page 192.rs.
In the footage that appeared on social networks, several cars with damaged tires can be seen.
According to the page 192.rs, there was a cracking of the metal connectors, the so-called. combs, which caused damage to at least ten vehicles that were crossing the bridge at that moment.
The police are on the scene, and towing services are also arriving to remove the damaged cars. For now, there is no information about the injured, but the witnesses stated that the incident caused a short-term blockade of traffic in the direction of Dobanovci.
The Ostružnički bridge, which is part of the Belgrade ring road, has been considered one of the most infrastructurally burdened traffic hubs in the country for years. After several years of work and reconstruction, the bridge was reopened to traffic in 2021, but drivers have previously pointed out bumps and problems at the junctions between the bridge segments.
It is not yet known whether today's incident is the result of a structural problem, maintenance, weather conditions or overloading of the bridge. There was no official reaction from the Roads of Serbia and the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure until the conclusion of this text.
