Čačak is still without water due to an accident on the main pipeline of the Rzav system, which is why the "Vodovod" company from that city provided tanks with drinking water for the most vulnerable institutions and citizens, writes the Regional Information Agency.
Director of "Vodovod" Zoran Pantović said that two mobile tanks are on standby, one of 6.000 liters with a pump that is in the hospital non-stop due to the needs of dialysis and major operations, and the other of 12.000 liters that refills those tanks as needed, writes FoNet.
Pantović stated that the company also has 12 smaller tanks, which are placed on vehicles or stationed at locations determined by the City Headquarters for emergency situations, and the most important thing is that they contain drinking water.
The deputy mayor of Čačak, Vladan Milić, said that "Vodovod" has made all its tanks available to the city, stressing that the priority is public institutions such as hospitals, preschools, schools and companies engaged in food production.
Milić pointed out that in that difficult situation, the Serbian Army and the utility company "Komunalac" came to the aid of the city, but there is technical water in their cisterns.
According to the officials, the repair work is entering the final stage and citizens should receive technical water by Wednesday morning, but it will not be drinking water, which is why the state of emergency will last until the Public Health Institute confirms the water's suitability.
The work could take two to three days
Public company Vodovod Cacak announced earlier that there was a major accident on the main pipeline water system Rzav in Gorobilj, which will cause serious problems with water supply in Čačak, but also in other municipalities that are supplied with water from this water system.
Crews are on the ground trying to repair the failure of the 1.200 mm profile concrete pipe, but the work could take two to three days.

JKP "Vodovod" stated that water from the Rzav water system stopped coming at 6 am. Currently, water is being pumped from the Beljina water system, but it is insufficient to meet all the city's needs, which is why there will be a drop in pressure during the day in the higher zones and the solitaires.
It is precisely because of the reduced pressure that the Institute for Public Health and the Republic Sanitary Inspector have banned the use of water for drinking.

The four municipalities of Arilje, Požega, Lucani and Gornji Milanovac are supplied with water from the Rzav water system, while the largest user is the City of Čačak, i.e. around 220.000 inhabitants.
