Faculty of Political Sciences (FPN) received a warning before power outage due to a debt greater than 350.000 dinars, said dean Maja Kovačević, adding that the reason for such a situation is that the Government of Serbia has not yet paid the funds necessary for the functioning of the faculty.
Maja Kovačević noted that the warning from the Electric Power Company of Serbia (EPS) arrived on September 4, and the Ministry of Education was informed about it on September 5.
The dean of the Faculty of Chemistry in Belgrade, Goran Roglić, previously told FoNet that the Government of Serbia has not yet paid the funds necessary for the functioning of that faculty and that there is no precise information on when it will be done, although everything should have been resolved by September 15.
"If they won't pay, let them come and cut off the electricity and water. We really can't do it anymore," Roglić said, adding that the faculty's debts are in the millions.
He pointed out that, in addition to unpaid bills, there are also problems with the procurement of materials that are necessary for teaching.
