Assembly of Serbia adopted today a set of trade laws, among which is the Law on Consumer Protection, which prohibits the sale to minors not only of tobacco, but also of related products, such as electronic cigarettes.
Also, merchants will be obliged to update the price list in real time with each price change, so that the data always corresponds to real, current prices in the store and online sales, so that consumers are accurately and timely informed.
Retail chains will be obliged to on their own Internet page, as well as on their account on the National Open Data Portal, they publish the price list of products on a daily basis.
The new legal solutions refer, among other things, to the sale of goods via online platforms, because the obligations of online market providers towards consumers are equated with the obligations of traders.
Deputies adopted amendments to the Law on trade which specify the definition of a trader, the rules for publishing a reduced price in the "previous price" section, and additionally specify the provisions related to inspection supervision.
The Law on trade practices for certain types of products was also adopted, which includes, in addition to agricultural and food products, products of special importance for supplying the market, which include household chemicals, personal hygiene products, cosmetics, as well as products of special importance for agricultural production, food and plant protection products, and soil conditioners.
The application of that law foresees the improvement of the functioning of the internal market, as well as the creation of preconditions for a more stable and transparent formation of prices.
The MPs also adopted the Law on the establishment and functioning of the system for the management of the cohesion policy, the aim of which is to establish a system for the management and control of the implementation of the cohesion policy of the European Union (EU), as well as determining the procedure for the preparation of relevant documents in accordance with the goals of the cohesion policy and the obligations of Serbia, which must be implemented before the end of the negotiations on Serbia's accession to the EU, so that from the day of accession to the EU, it will be ready to use the funds of that policy.
