News director N1 Branislav Sovljanski he spoke about the case of the show "24 minutes with Zoran Kesić", as well as the situation regarding the journalist By Žaklina Tatalović and former columnist Ljubodrag Stojadinović.
When it comes to the show "24 minutes with Zoran Kesić", Šovljanski said that he considers Kesić a colleague and friend of the newsroom and that the employees of N1 supported him.
He stated that both sides were heard in that case, that is, the owners of the television and Kesić, and that the newsroom will continue to support him. He added that support will also be provided at the protest announced on that occasion.
"I can't get into the owner's decisions, but that's another proof of what's happening on N1 television. Do you know that somewhere it happened that the television didn't continue cooperation with someone, and he came on television to the same owner to talk about it? That doesn't exist anywhere, and it's the ultimate proof of the freedom of speech that happens on N1," said Šovljanski, speaking of Kesić.
Kesić on canceling the show: We may have made sure voters of the government laugh
Speaking about Žaklina Tatalović, Šovljanski said that the journalist is currently on annual leave and sick leave.
"We also have that problem, if someone wants to engage in politics and journalism, then there is no place for them on TV N1, I really do not believe that someone can and should be politically active and think about their career in politics, and have space to work on television, to use space on television for their possible political future promotion. Anyone who plans to do that should clearly draw a line and say - I want to be involved in politics," said Šovljanski.
Šovljanski also commented on the decision not to broadcast the replay of the show "Iza vesti" in which Zoran Kesić was a guest.
He explained that it was his decision and that it had nothing to do with Kesić, but with the statement of the journalist N1 Danica Vučenić that former columnist Ljubodrag Stojadinović was censored on that television.
According to him, Stojadinović was not subject to censorship, but was asked not to insult other people in his columns.
"Danica Vučenić says in the program that Ljubodrag Stojadinović is censored on this television. I, if I knew that someone and something were censored, I would leave, I would no longer work where something is prohibited, and he is not censored, he was asked not to insult people in his columns. So, Vojislav Stevanović, deputy news director, addressed him - just, please, do not insult anyone, because if they insult us, they call us those names, let's let's not be the same, let's be better than that," Sovljanski explained.
He added that all of Stojadinović's columns were published on the N1 portal without any changes and that the columnist himself made the decision to end cooperation with that media house.
