According to the data, these registered cases have an incidence of 92,9 per 100.000 inhabitants. The largest number of patients is in the age group from zero to four years, followed by the age group from five to 14 years.
Batut states that the indicators of geographical spread indicate that the activity is normal for the non-epidemic period and that the intensity of clinical activity is at the basic level, below the epidemic threshold.
Epidemiological surveillance of influenza in the 2025/2026 season. began on September 29, 2025 with weekly monitoring and reporting in accordance with case definitions, from surveillance units in the territory of jurisdiction, in a defined time period, and in the observed period, monitoring of epidemiological, clinical and virological characteristics of the disease is continuously carried out.

According to Batut, during the 40th reporting week, according to data from the sentinel surveillance of acute respiratory infections, a total of 10.654 cases of acute respiratory infection (ARI) were registered.
Batut states that as far as the epidemiological situation in the countries of the European Union (EU) is concerned, flu-like illnesses are present in Zurich, and ARI is present in Estonia, Lithuania, Russia and Spain, according to data from the World Health Organization (WHO).
