Situation on the ground
International forces in KosovoToday's KFOR is trained to react urgently in potential crisis situations. The Tactical Reserve Battalion (KTBRN) from the Hungarian contingent, which is specially trained to act as an intervention force to protect the population and prevent violence, is directly subordinate to the mission commander. Other contingents are also trained for these tasks. KFOR also has an international battalion for intelligence work, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISRBN), which represents the "eyes" and "ears" of the commander in every corner of Kosovo.
